The main pool is the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool and is kept at a perfect temperature between 90 and 93 degrees F. In addition, there’s a smaller therapy pool that’s heated to a relaxing 104 degrees.

Either way, you and your loved ones can enjoy some time to do some laps, have a blast jumping off the diving boards, or just chill and relax in its soothing waters. 

Glenwood Hot Springs uses filtered, purified spring water in both pools, and they change the water completely every six hours. So, you can splash around worry-free.

Just a few steps from the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, this is a totally one-of-a-kind experience. The Yampah Spa features the only vapor caves known in all of North America. 

These underground caves are heated naturally, thanks to the mineral hot spring water that bubbles up at a toasty 125 degrees F. Inside, you’ll find three different chambers with varying degrees of temperature around 110-112 degrees F.

After a long day on the ski slopes at nearby Vail Mountain, there’s nothing better than soaking away sore muscles inside a vapor cave.

Located right by the banks of the Colorado River, the naturally hot mineral spring water is perfect for soaking, along with taking in the beautiful views. 

If you’re craving a more relaxing experience, head over to the Whirlpool Spa nearby. The temperature in these pools is just over 100 degrees, making it absolute heaven for unwinding and relaxing. 

For families and solo adventurers alike, Iron Mountain has got you covered. They have a massive 100,000-gallon freshwater family pool that’s heated to a cozy 94 degrees F. 

Or if you want some privacy, Iron Mountain Hot Springs has 16 smaller pools for you to choose from. The temperatures in these pools range from 98 to 108 degrees, so you can pick the perfect one for your liking. 

Plus, the best part is that these smaller pools are connected with a heated walkway, so even in winter, you can have an amazing time soaking in warmth. 

And if you’re wondering about the facilities, they’ve got showers and bathrooms available in the Bathhouse’s locker rooms. So, you can freshen up and be on your way, feeling all clean and rejuvenated.

While the previous hot springs near Vail mentioned above means traveling west, Indian Hot Springs is located east of Vail, close to Denver.

This full-service resort has it all from hot spring pools, cozy accommodations, and a top-notch spa. 

One of the coolest things about this place is their main swimming pool which is housed in a huge glass dome surrounded by lush tropical plants. It’s like swimming in paradise! 

But that’s not all of the appeal of Indian Hot Springs as they also feature some unique geothermal caves. These hidden gems were built back in the early twentieth century and feature separate caves for men and women.

Each of the tubs inside the geothermal caves is filled with mineral water heated to a toasty 108 to 112 degrees. Not to mention that clothing is optional in the caves, so they’re only open to visitors 18 and older.

If you’re seeking a more private soak this resort features outdoor jacuzzis and indoor private baths. The outdoor jacuzzis are perfect for small groups, but make sure you book in advance as they’re quite popular. 

And for individuals or couples, the indoor tubs are perfect thanks to temperatures between 106 and 110 degrees. 

But these options aren’t the only things worth trying out at Indian Hot Springs. Be sure to check out the spa as it offers a variety of massages and body treatments.

Yep, many folks choose to go au naturel and because of this, sometimes this location can get pretty popular. If you want a more serene and solitary soak, aim to arrive early or opt for weekdays instead of weekends. 

Since the South Canyon Hot Springs isn’t regulated, the size and temperature of the main pool and hot springs creek may change based on the elements. But generally the temps fall within the 100 to 112 degree range. 

Getting to the main pool is quick thanks to an 1/8-mile short hike on a dirt path. But there are no main parking lots or pathways as everything is maintained by Mother Nature herself.
